TEST TAKER'S RESPONSE
Staying in the classes by professors with whom people have already had is sometimes reckoned as a bad character of a person these days, because it shows this person lack of courage to escape what he is familiar with. However, many opponents argue that it is not always a disadvantageous choice because there are many benefits to stay with familiar professor. As far as I am concerned, I prefer the latter one.
First of all, students can adapt quickly in a familiar professor class and gain more knowledge from it. Students choose to take courses like that, because they like the professor and willing to listen to his class. For instance, my Math teacher is a funny man, always can explain a difficult math theory into simple and vivid one. I would likely to follow his class and instruction, because it is interesting and full of useful knowledge. What's more, students are more familiar with their teaching styles, which helps them to adapt in more sophisticated courses. Many students are shy to ask questions about what they do not understand in class. However, when they are in a familiar professor class, they are more likely to give their opinions and ask questions, which is both for teacher and students. A class with many communications between teachers and students is always active and funny, so more students will pretend to participate in the class.
Admittedly, a minority of individuals tend to believe that always choosing the old one will lose chance to experience new teaching styles. However, if we could analyze this issue from a different perspective, we could find out that those people have oversimplified the real situation. The key meaning of taking courses is to gain knowledge. When we turn to new professors, we also put us in a risk of not getting used to their classes. Thus, students may lay behind other classmates. For instance, my roommate used to change her class to the one with high evaluations. However, the professor in the new class is talking too fast and she could not catch up. She was anxious and questioned her study ability. When she had to switch her class to original teacher, she quickly caught up and got a good mark.
In conclusion, taking courses with whom you have already had is a better way to learn effectively and efficiently. We do not have chances to carefully weigh the pros against the cons, and it could take away the opportunity cost needed to choose a new professor.
