1) Agree
a) Some of the juveniles haven't formed their own opinions, thus they may choose to accept others' opinions instead of posing a critical thinking over it. At the same time, Internet enables younger people to access celebrities' opinions easily, which will exert significant influence on them, especially the juveniles.
b) Some of the younger people are royal fans of the famous entertainers or athletes, and they intend to accept what their idols say.
2) Disagree
a) Some old people rely heavily on advertisements to choose the commodities they want to buy. In other words, they are more easily influenced by the opinions of celebrities.
b) Some of the young people are mature enough to make their own judgments, and they can take a critical view on what the celebrities say in public.
TEST TAKER'S RESPONSE.
Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people believe that celebrities' opinions are more important to young people than older people while others cannot agree with this point. From my point of view, it is more advisable to concur with this idea. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
The main reason for my propensity for this point is that young people lack social experience. The youth do not have enough time to get used to the society, but they need opinions to develop themselves, thus the opinions from the celebrities are significant to them. According to a survey by the Harvard University, many young people have yet to form their values, and they need help from the society to form their own values. In this condition, celebrities can do a lot in helping them.
Another important reason is that young people are credulous as they lack social experience. They are susceptible to all sorts of ideas, either good or harmful. Therefore it is essential for them to be guided by mainstream, positive-energy values. It is easy to see that celebrities are capable of doing well here, as they can widely spread positive-energy values with little work. As for old people, they watch TV and surf the internet less, thus the degree that celebrities can affect them is much lower than the youth.
Although I agree that celebrities is able to affect old people, I feel that it is hard. Old people have their own, unique values for a long time, and their opinions cannot be affected or changed with no hard work. What is more, some old people dislike the celebrities. In other words, they may simply regard celebrities' ideas unacceptable.
In a word, the youth are easier to be affected. So it is sagacious to believe that the opinions of celebrities are more important to younger people than they are to older people.
