Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

TASK RESPONSE.
University education is basically the last slot of the education system and some believe university students should be given a lee way to choose the subjects they like. However, subjects related to science and technology are deemed imperative in future and many believe university students should study them. It might seem a worthy take to choose science and technology subjects however, learners should make their choice.
The world is braced with the influx of science and technological needs in various spheres, studying science and technology will enable graduates get high paying jobs quite as soon as they leave university. In today’s society, technology related jobs offer higher wages because everything now is sort of related to technology in one way or another. When it comes to science, our life is imperatively dictated by science, it makes studying science subjects a sure way of getting a job. Professions like doctors, pilots, information technology specialists or even engineers earn quote heftily than other professions because their work is needed, without any option to replace them. A doctor of a specific ailment should be a doctor, there is no short cut for a person from another profession to do so.
That said, students should choose the subjects they like as not every student will be good at science and technology subjects. Learning is through interest and innate ability to understand what is taught. Students have varied levels of understanding knowledge, they will choose those subjects they can comprehend better. Even so, not all students would love professions that come from science and technology subjects. For example, a student might have a phobia of the dead and thus cannot be a doctor because doctors usually encounter situations where people die as they operate on them. Many learners grow up with specific career interests and thus forcing them to do science or technology related subjects would be burying their dreams.
In a nutshell, I do believe science and technology related subjects can lead to better and high paying jobs after graduation however, not all students can be good at such subjects, and many have different personal career dreams that would be suffocated if forced to do science and technology related subjects at university.
