TEST TAKER'S RESPONSE.
With the remarkable improvement of living standards, numerous families have access to computers in contemporary society. As a result, there is a heated public debate on whether playing computer games is a waste of time. From my perspective, instead of making poor use of time, children can cultivate beneficial skills and have much pleasure and relaxation by playing computer games.
To start with, youngsters can raise cooperation awareness and develop intellectual capabilities to solve complex problems when playing multiplayer or strategy games. Generally speaking, only by building trust between team members and working collaboratively can children win the first prize in multiplayer games. In this process, children can develop their confidence to express their perspective and communication skills, which are essential for getting along with colleagues in the future. Moreover, in some strategy games, players must react to complicated settings and understand relationships between characters quickly, which is a rewarding brain exercise. Tale my experience as an example. In my high school years, I enjoyed playing the Counter-Strike, a first-perspective shooting game. I would immerse myself in virtual battlefields as a fighter, defending our territory with my friends. Undeniably, given a chance to play those games, children can sharpen their brains and associate with peers.
Furthermore, children can take a break from the stressful and monotonous reality when exploring the colorful and relaxing virtual world. With the rapid pace of modern life, children are somewhat overwhelmed with the excessive expectation of parents and enormous peer pressure. Under such circumstances, it is high time that they should have some leisure time to take a breath and follow their hearts. For example, in junior high, I would like to play Minecraft, a construction game where I can be an adventurer and build distinctive architecture. Appreciating the breathtaking scenery in Minecraft, I could forget my burdens and find my inner tranquility. When turning back to study, I had a higher learning efficiency and working productivity. Obviously, playing games brings youngsters happiness, relaxation, and inspiration.
In a nutshell, never should we turn a blind eye to the positive sides of computer games, considering that they bring children learning opportunities and meaningful entertainment.
