PART 1.
Topic: Cold weather
Q. Have you ever been in very cold weather? [When?]
A. Yes, I have, actually a few months ago during my holiday when I went to visit Beijing, China. The most recent was when I traveled to Quebec, Canada. It was greatly cold to the marrow.
Q. How often is the weather cold where you come from?
A. I am from Malaysia and the climate is not that cold during winters. We have plenty of rainfall, semi-tropical summers and cool winters. The cold is moderate in our area and in December to January the temperature drops to around just 8.5° C. Our winters last for only four months.
Q. Are some parts of your country colder than others? [Why?]
A. Malaysia is not that big a country to have varied weather conditions. Generally, the temperatures are usually the same throughout the country. I come from the southern part of Melaka which experiences tropical climate on the whole.
Q. Would you prefer to live in a hot place or a cold place? [Why?]
A. I should say I prefer living in a place with very moderate weather conditions. I am not comfortable with very cold weather nor am I comfortable with very hot conditions. A place with moderate weather, like tropical weather conditions that will fluctuate from mild cold to mild hotness would suit me best.
