TASK RESPONSE.
Since time memorial, traditional festivals and celebrations have been a cardinal part of human life, weaving through cultural heritage and connection to the past societal evolution. It is notable that in sundry parts of the world, these festivities are becoming a myth for a number of reasons. However, there are solutions to address the causes.
The salient cause for the decline of traditional festivals is modernization and urbanization. With the increase in need of modernity, traditional and cultural heritages are dwindling because they are deemed antiquated for modernity. Many such festivities seem primitive even to the owners and thus discarding them. Some cultural festivities are rendered a danger to huma life, for example, female genital mutilation. Imperatively, the world has become one small village that many foreign modern cultures are sieving through societies, rendering traditional and cultural festivities obsolete.
The survival of traditional and cultural festivities depends on the ability to sensitize people about their importance, promoting education about the cultural and historical significance of these events, through cultural festivals, exhibitions, and educational programs. The younger generations should be part of these programs because it enhances the passage of cultural traditions to future generations, ensuring their survival. Authorities should preserve traditional heritages no matter the development needed. For example, China has preserved many cultural heritages in Beijing, including the Temple of Heaven, Lama Temple and the Hutongs.
To sum, modernization and economic development, coupled with the effect of some cultural festivities on humans, have caused decline in traditions and cultures however, government preservation and involvement of the young in cultural and traditional education can help preserve traditional and cultural festivities.
