TEST TAKER'S RESPONSE.
Nowadays, a hot topic has ignited in many public debates: whether it is easier for parents to take care of their kids today than before. Some people insist that parents spend less time and energy on taking care of children, because there are many convenient facilities, while some others take the opposite stance. However, I believe neither of their views is 100 percent solid. This issue is manifold and we should take different countries into consideration.
Subjectivity aside, hardly am I in a position to deny the fact that it is convenient for parents in some regions to raise children, especially the developed countries. It has become a widely acknowledged fact that the fundamental facilities are well developed in these wealthy countries, so they have time to focus on the issue of education and technology. Therefore, there are many methods, including television programs, internet and books, for parents to know about how to raise and teach their kids. Besides, parents can hire a well-rounded baby-sitter to look after the children. Because they have experiences of raising kids, they will take care of children carefully. For example, Duke, my little brother, was 5 years. With the rapid development of technology and economy, our parents paid a great attention to the issue of raising Duke, so they always went to the library and book stores checking about how to raise a kid, and sought for some methods to get along with kids through the internet. As a result, they learnt various methods to raise their kid and Duke was well-developed.
Despite the theory above being logical, it is not enough to lead out the final conclusion, for the reason that it only focuses on rich countries. It is necessary to consider other countries if a more reliable conclusion is needed. It is hard for parents to raise their kids in some countries, such as underdeveloped countries. Little effort does it take to point out that poverty-stricken areas are backward in different aspects even the fundamental constructions, so the governments in these areas are devoted to construction of infrastructure. In order to keep pace with other countries’ development, the masses are asked to work almost all of their time. When that is taken into account, parents have limited time to take care of their children.
In a nutshell, this issue requires us to consider comprehensively. When it refers to developed countries, parents spend less energy on taking care of kids, while as for underdeveloped countries, it is hard for parents to look after their children.
