The table data summarizes the types of transports citizens in four countries use while the bar graph outlines why Americans prefer using cars to reach their workplaces. Overall, private cars are the most preferred vehicle type in the USA and UK while Americans believe they mainly use cars for its quickness, convenience and being best means of transport. According to the table data, 90% Americans use cars, around 18% higher than in UK at 72. France and Netherlands use cars the least, accounting for 68 and 47% respectively. That said, USA, UK and France use bicycles the least, all below 2% compared to 26% in Netherlands. Public transport is on average less used in all countries, with the highest in France at 18% followed by 12% in UK. Fewer people walk in all four countries, with Netherlands having the highest percentage at 18 compared to 11%in UK and France, the lowest being 5% in USA. Other means were the least used in all countries, lower than 3%. The bar graph depicts around 39% Americans thinking they have no alternative to their personal cars to travel to work. In comparison, around 30% think a car is imperative. 20% of so Americans think it is convenient yet just above 10% and below 10% think a car is quicker or needed because they work nightshift.
