The chart compares the results of a survey investigating people’s buying and drinking habits of coffee and tea in five cities in Australia. It is clear that most people living in Melbourne went to a cafe to purchase coffee or tea. Meanwhile, a higher percentage of residents who were fond of instant coffee was seen in Hobart. About 64% of citizens in Melbourne preferred to go to a cafe for drinks, which was the highest figure among these five cities. The proportion in Hobart was slightly lower, with around 63%. Sydney was ranked third, at 61% in total. The percentages of Brisbane and Adelaide were the least, with about 55% and 50% respectively. We can also see that most people living in Hobart showed a preference for instant coffee, at nearly 55%, while the figure for fresh coffee was only 39%. About 53% of citizens in Brisbane consumed instant coffee in the last 4 weeks, and 50% of its counterparts in Adelaide chose the same choice. However, both of them only bought a limited amount of fresh coffee, at about 35%. The figures for these two categories in Sydney were similar though, both of them were around 45%.
