SAMPLE ESSAY.
Past years have seen advances in high-tech media used to change many aspects of our lives, including their use in public libraries, though many would think that it is only a waste of money. I however vehemently agree that modern technology is imperative in public libraries.
Modern technical equipment gives people a better way of searching information than old-fashioned methods. Library data bases can give people enormous information in no minute than ordinary library catalogue. It saves time because looking for a book among hordes of them would be cumbersome. An example, many sundry people, including students, have limited time to search for books, but a simple click of the mouse would draw all they need on the computer screen.
Suffice to note, modern technology helps make updates of information quickly. It is easy for authors of varied information on the library data base to update their books, which would be hard and expensive if it should be done with a physical book. With a physical book, a new print should be made, meaning all the old books with outdated information need to be thrown down the drain, which is not the case with high-tech media that stores all information virtually in a data base that can easily be retrieved and updated, then disseminated to different channels it should go.
On the whole, it is certain that high-tech media has certainly impacted our lives positively and thus public libraries should embrace new technology to ease information updates and offer quicker services to their clients.
Introduction
Body paragraph 1 - the 1st reason you agree/disagree
Body paragraph 2 - the 2nd reason you agree/disagree
Conclusion
Note that some test takers will try to discuss both sides and take a side in the conclusion. However, we should note that there is a question type that would require such a response "to what extent do you agree or disagree". So a competent writer, for a question type "agree/disagree" will choose a side and give opinions to support their side.
So the question "do you agree or disagree" is different from "to what extent do you agree or disagree"?
