TASK RESPONSE.
The pie charts exhibit the proportion of travelers using five different modes of transportation to commute to a university for work and study in 2004 and 2009.
As can be observed, the ratio of people commuting by cars significantly dwindled from the year 2004 to 2009 while the other modes of transportation witnessed a mammoth hiking trend.
A sizeable number of people, 51%, in 2004 traveled by car, compared to those who travelled by bus, accounting for 33%. Apparently only 9% used bicycles, about three times the ratio of commuters who used the train. Meanwhile, a minimal 4% preferred to walk.
The proportion of bus-based travelers spiraled exorbitantly by 13% to 46% in 2009, compared to a wane of car travelers at the university, who shrunk to just 28%. In contrast, the percentage of bicyclists witnessed a substantial rise by 7% to 16% in 2009, along with the train passengers and pedestrians increased proportion to 4% and 6% respectively.
